What's new in the Gumtrue mobile app

This release is about picking up where you left off. Draft orders can now be edited, confirmed or deleted from any list on the phone, customer statements can be printed, shared or emailed on the spot, and the Orders page gains proper filters. Products, suppliers and rounds also catch up with the web app.

Draft orders you can actually work with

  • The same buttons wherever you find a draft: Whether you open a draft from Orders, from Activity or from a customer's page, you now get the same choices: Edit draft, Confirm, Delete and Open PDF.
  • Edit a draft in your own way of ordering: Edit draft opens the order on the order sheet if that is how you take orders, in the basket if you use the catalog, and asks which you prefer if you use both.
  • Confirm a draft in two taps: Confirm shows the customer and total, then raises the order and reserves stock. A draft reserves nothing until you do.
  • Delete a draft from the phone: Drafts that will never be needed can now be deleted from the phone, with a warning that it cannot be undone.
  • Office users can still confirm and delete: Someone who does not take orders themselves can still confirm or delete a driver's draft from the list.
  • Add items without losing your place: The basket has a new Add items button that takes you back to the catalog, and the catalog now shows Draft SO-x under the customer name so you always know which order you are adding to.
  • Back goes to the catalog: After opening a draft in the basket, pressing back returns you to the catalog instead of dropping you back in the orders list.
  • Save draft or Confirm on the order sheet: When a draft is open on the order sheet, the footer offers Save draft to keep it as a draft, or Confirm to raise it. Notes, delivery date and price list set in the basket are kept even though the sheet does not show them.
  • Activity opens the order, not the basket: Tapping a draft in Activity now opens the order details with its actions, instead of pushing it straight into the basket.

Statements from the customer page

  • Statement and Outstanding on the customer page: Two new tiles open a customer's statement or their outstanding statement as a PDF right on the phone.
  • Pick the period: The statement covers the last 90 days by default, and a calendar button lets you choose any other period. The outstanding statement is always as of today.
  • Print, share or email: The statement page has Print, Share and Email buttons at the bottom, so a customer who asks for their statement at the door can have it before you leave.
  • Email goes to the right person: Email fills in the customer's main contact address for you, checks the address looks right, and tells you when it has been sent.

Finding orders faster

  • Filters on the Orders page: A new filter button opens a panel where you can narrow the list by fulfillment stage, invoice status, who created the order and which price list was used.
  • See what is applied: Each active filter shows as a chip above the list with an X to remove it, and the filter button shows how many are on.
  • More detail on each row: When you filter by creator or price list, each order row shows who created it and which price list it used, so you can check at a glance.

Products that match the web app

  • Photo first: The photo card is now at the top of the new product page, the same as the edit page and the web form, so it is not hidden below five sections on a phone.
  • Product type: The product page now leads with SKU and a Product type choice of Stock item, Non-stock item or Service, with a short note on what each means. Batch tracking is only offered for stock items.
  • A Pricing section of its own: The base unit's price is now edited in a Pricing section on the product page, so a business that sells in one unit never has to open a unit to find the price.
  • A clearer unit sheet: Units of measure get a display label, grouped sections for the unit, its pricing and what it is used for, and equal-width fields with visible hints.
  • Prices that work themselves out: With % off RRP, changing the RRP or the discount recalculates the sell price, and changing the sell price works the discount back out, the same as the web app.

Receiving goods

  • Open a recent receipt: The Recently received tiles on a supplier's page now open the receipt, showing when and by whom it was received, the warehouse, the order, the bill status, notes, and every line with its bin and batch where recorded.
  • Scanning counts the delivery: On a receipt with no order, each scan adds one to that product's count, so you can scan cases off the van instead of typing. You can still type a total over the top.
  • Scanning against an order just finds the row: When receiving against an order the boxes are already filled with what is owed, so a scan jumps to the row without changing the number.

Rounds with codes

  • Codes on every round: Rounds now show as CODE - Name across the app, in the rounds list, on the round page, in the round picker when creating a route, in the customer rounds filter and on the bulk generate page.
  • Search rounds by code or name: The rounds list has a search box that matches either.
  • A code suggested for you: New rounds come with the next code filled in. You can keep it, type your own, or leave it blank and one is assigned.

Smaller things that save time

  • Saved passwords work on the login screen: The phone now recognises the login form, offers your saved login when you tap the username box, and only asks to save a password after a login that worked.

Bug Fixes

  • Pinned tabs stay pinned: A pinned tab such as Suppliers was being replaced by a default tab on every login. Your chosen tabs now stay where you put them.
  • Order sheet keeps your quantities through a search: Searching for one product and clearing the search wiped the quantities keyed on the rows in between. Keyed rows are now kept while hidden, the list says how many the search is hiding, and they are always saved.
  • New order and Clear visible in light mode: Both buttons on the order sheet bar were painted the same green as the bar in light mode. They are now readable.
  • Usually delivered means delivered: The receive goods list showed products a supplier had never actually supplied under Usually delivered. Only products with a delivery or order history appear there now, and a supplier with no history shows This supplier's products instead.
